GFOA's 6th Annual MiniMuni Conference, October 9–11, will provide an opportunity for finance professionals who work in debt management to hear from leading experts, seasoned practitioners, and regulators on a host of issues that impact municipal issuers. The Alliance for Smarter School Spending aims to support the implementation of GFOA’s Smarter School Spending Framework by bringing together diverse school districts from finance and academic departments across the United States. Alliance member Michele Trongaard says that being a member of the Alliance has allowed her to "take a deeper dive into strategically budgeting to support [her] district’s board goals. Using the Cost Savings Tool to initiate those conversations with other departments from the CFO’s seat helped build relationships and understanding from the academic side."
