Annual Conference Mentor Program

GFOA first-time scholarship recipients, and other members that are either new to GFOA or new to GFOA's annual conference will have the option to participate in GFOA's mentorship program. As a mentee, you and a small group of other new GFOA members will be paired with an experienced GFOA member as a mentor in leading up to the annual conference. That mentor will be able to give you lessons learned on the GFOA conference that he/she has acquired over the years, tips on how to get the most out of GFOA and the conference, and a friendly face to connect with at GFOA social events and throughout the Colorado Convention Center. It’s also a great opportunity to connect with your peers in a very similar situation.

This is the second year that GFOA will be offering the program. The mentor program will allow the mentees and mentors a chance to participate in a conference call with peers prior to the conference and attend GFOA's first-time annual conference scholarship bruch as a group to build upon the initial phone connection. Additional activities may be planned by the mentor or the group.

GFOA will attempt to connect mentees and mentors with similar career interests and backgrounds.
