Description:

Local governments in the United States and Canada maintain hundreds of thousands of miles of underground infrastructure. Much of that infrastructure was built decades ago and has exceeded its length of service expectations. Not every organization faces a situation as dire as Flint, Michigan, but many communities were established with lead pipes, lack complete documentation of existing infrastructure, and continue to face pressure to tighten budgets while trying to maintain or improve infrastructure. This session will feature finance officers, engineers, and technology providers to discuss the most significant challenges faced by governments in managing water infrastructure and how to overcome them.
