Many people can be easily overwhelmed by the sheer volume of data presented in a typical local government’s comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). A Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) can help such individuals overcome this barrier by presenting selected information from the CAFR in a more readily accessible form. Each year, GFOA’s PAFR Program collects hundreds of examples of sucessful PAFRs. This session will focus on practical lessons that these examples offer for those who wish to prepare a popular report for the first time, and ways to improve an existing popular report.
