Assistant Chief Financial Officer
Location: City Hall | Portsmouth, VA | Finance Open Until: May 31, 2017 at 11:59 PM EST Job Status: Full-Time Rate of Pay: Grade 35 – $62,193 – $124,500
Education & Experience Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field, and 6 to 9 years of progressively responsible accounting experience with 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Advanced degree and experience in municipal government preferred.
Special Requirements • An acceptable general background check to include a local, state and federal criminal history check. • Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and /or designation as a Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) by Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and/or a designation as a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) by Association of Government Accountants (AGA) preferred.
