OCSD is currently looking to fill the role of an Accounting Assistant II.
Under general supervision, the Accounting Assistant II performs a variety of clerical accounting duties associated with accounts payable; provides information and assistance to District staff and the general public; maintains files and records; and performs a variety of clerical tasks relative to the assigned area of responsibility. Specifically, this person will be responsible for all accounts payable functions: processing invoices to be paid in a timely manner, including obtaining proper approvals and matching invoices with signed receiving documents, purchase orders and/or contracts; verifying accuracy of computation on invoices; processing checks and verifying invoices against pre-check register; following up on outstanding invoices; providing information and assistance to District staff and vendors regarding payments of invoices; resolving payment discrepancies; and preparing various reports and reconciliations. The position will also be responsible for maintaining detailed desk procedures for their specific area of responsibility.
Qualifications & Requirements:
This position requires an education level equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by college level course work in finance, accounting, or a related field and three (3) years of increasingly responsible clerical accounting experience. Computer skills using such applications as PeopleSoft Enterprise One ERP (previously known as JD Edwards OneWorld XE) and Microsoft Excel, MS Word, as well as the ability to use a 10 Key by touch are highly desired. Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential. Organizational skills, analytical skills, and the ability to multi-task in an effort to meet tight deadlines are necessary.

Hiring Salary Range*: $27.79 – $30.63/Hour
