Mid-America Regional Council, based in Kansas City is seeking a Head of Finance and Administration. The leader will direct the agency's fiscal management and administrative activities, including budgeting and financial planning, accounting, financial statements and reporting, investments and banking, purchasing and contracting, human resources, and grants and office administration and have oversight for 150 grant funds, a $59 million budget, and 14 employees.
Reporting to the executive leader, the Head of Finance and Administration will be part of the executive leadership team, s/he will serve as a key decision-maker who contributes to the effectiveness of programs and initiatives. Qualified candidates will possess:
•The ability to lead the agency in developing business and financial practices necessary for an evolving set of functions and financial models. •Have experience overseeing the grant funding process, and/or have worked for an organization with a diverse portfolio of nonprofit, governmental or educational stakeholders. • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of leadership experience, or a Master’s degree with 5+ years of leadership experience.
