CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County, a special district created over 30 years ago by Palm Beach County voters, provides leadership, funding, services and research on behalf of the county’s children so they are born healthy, safe from abuse and neglect, ready to learn when they enter school, and have access to quality afterschool and summer programming. We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who will apply proven leadership and accountability in the formulation and execution of the CSC’s financial management policies and management of financial management systems and procedures to ensure financial integrity. The role of the CFO is to direct the fiscal functions of the CSC in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, the Government Accounting Standards Board, and other regulatory and advisory organizations in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Key Responsibilities of the CFO Position • Ensure compliance with audit requirements and other financial reporting as required by law, contribute financial expertise and insight to the Leadership Team, optimize the efficient use of CSC’s assets, and expand the CSC’s financial resources. • Participate in the development of the financial plan element for incorporation into the Council’s comprehensive strategic plan. • Work with CEO and staff in the development of the CSC Annual operating budget from initial draft through the completion of the TRIM process. • Oversee maintenance of the general accounting activities (general ledger, production of financial reports, independent audit and compliance reporting, etc.) to ensure a “clean” audit. • Oversee the Finance Division including the accounting, budget oversight and audit and compliance departments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Master’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field and ten (10) years of progressively responsible fiscal responsibility, three (3) of which were in a leadership capacity in an organization of similar or greater size, or related experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the minimum requirements listed.
