Job Description: 

This supervisory position is responsible for the management of the day-to-day accounts payable (AP) operations for Frederick County. The AP Manager must ensure accurate and timely payment of County obligations, 1099 IRS reporting, and unclaimed property filings by utilizing effective communication skills and building strong working relationships with internal staff and external contacts. Supervision is given to Accounting Technicians; Supervision is received from the Accounting Team Leader.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE: •Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field •Minimum 5 years of recent (within the last 10 years) accounts payable work experience, which includes at least 2 years of experience utilizing an automated financial/accounts payable system and online banking software •Minimum 1 year of work experience supervising or directing the work of others •Intermediate skill in the use of MS Office Suite •NOTE: An additional 2 years of accounts payable work experience may reduce the education requirement to an Associate's degree.
