Job Description: 

Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority is seeking a well-qualified Fiscal Resources Manager to join our Finance and Budgeting team.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance or a closely related field, or possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License. Experience in a large public transportation organization is also preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under general direction, a Fiscal Resources Manager plans, organizes, directs, and manages the administrative and operational activities and staff of a functional area within the Fiscal Resources Division.

This management position is characterized by full managerial responsibility for a department within Fiscal Resources involving one or more of the following functions or responsibilities: accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue services, debt administration, investment services, payroll, general accounting, financial accounting, budget administration and maintenance, project cost accounting, financial accounting system integration, internal audit and control, and compliance with contract terms and Federal and State grant regulations and conditions. Assignments include confidential activities relating to employee and management relations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Sufficient training, education, and financial management experience to demonstrate possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Development of the required skills, knowledge, and abilities is typically obtained through a combination of training and experience equivalent to a four-year degree from an accredited college or university with major work in public or business administration, accounting, public finance, public administration, or a closely related field and extensive increasingly responsible administrative management experience directing and managing major accounting/financial services programs. Significant supervisory experience over professional accounting/financial services staff is required.
