Salary Range: $65,894.40 annually (min), $81,047.20 annually (mid), $96,200.00 annually (max) Hiring Range: Depends on Qualifications

Apply on-line by visiting www.denverwater.org/careers. Denver Water’s Finance Division/Budget Section is currently seeking a qualified Finance Analyst candidate to join our team. This position will be responsible for providing support on budget development, budget management, forecasting, financial reporting, and process improvement. This position will work under general supervision preparing and analyzing financial and general information relevant to the work area including monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial data, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, documenting processes, and analyzing metrics.

The ideal candidate is a strong contributor who can successfully partner with other members of the Budget Section to provide analysis, reporting, monitoring and customer support to the organization. Applicants for this role should be enthusiastic, self-starting, open to change, and have a strong desire to assist Denver Water in becoming the “best water utility in the nation”. Previous experience in the public sector is desired but not required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Participate in the development of the organization’s budget, including collection, verification, and management of budget data from various divisions • Assist in the monthly and quarterly forecast process, including variance monitoring, reporting, and analysis • Assist in the development of internal processes and procedures related to finance and budget • Pro-actively highlight opportunities for financial process improvements • Monitors expenditures, identifies and reports on significant variances, and prepares financial reports • Assists in the development of reports, presentations, and other visual aids used in formal presentations • All assignments completed with accuracy and attention to detail • Perform routine/scheduled work and participates on projects as required • Meets established deadlines for both routine tasks and projects • Regularly exercise judgment to resolve problems and determine appropriate action • Contributes to the creation and maintenance of a positive work environment • Works collaboratively with others, acting as a resource, sharing ideas, recognizing interdependencies • Maintains positive, open communication with internal customers, to ensure understanding of expectations and creation of a positive working partnership • Perform related work as required

Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related field. • Minimum 2 years of related work experience. • Any equivalent combination of certifications, education, or experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities for the position.
