General Project Management Concepts

This section reviews general project management concepts as they relate to financial recovery. According to Harvard Business School’s Managing Projects, there are four basic phases in project management:

You will find that many of the ideas found within these four basic phases are also found within the 12 steps of the recovery process. You can use the information found in this section of the Web site to ensure you are addressing the essentials of project management as you move through the 12 steps of the recovery process, and to manage sub-projects that will be needed within the 12 steps. For example, many longer-term financial strategies are complicated endeavors that require a project management approach.
