Ann Shawver is the Director of Finance of the City of Roanoke, Virginia, where she has worked for the past 18 years. Before that, she was employed by KPMG in Roanoke for four years.  

Shawver holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from James Madison University and a master’s in Business Administration from Virginia Tech. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the AICPA and the Virginia Society of CPAs. Shawver is a Past President of the Virginia GFOA and the Roanoke Chapter of the VSCPA. She serves on the Committee on Economic Development and Capital Planning of the GFOA and the Finance Policy Committee of the Virginia Municipal League, and serves on a variety of other boards and commissions in her capacity at the City of Roanoke. Shawver is on the Advisory Council of Radford University’s College of Business and Economics, and she has instructed and served on panels at a variety of courses for the GFOA, VGFOA, and other organizations.
