Jed Briggs is the Budget Operations Manager for the City of Park City, Utah, where he oversees and develops the City’s annual operating budget of $50 million. Mr. Briggs is starting his fifth annual budget managing the Budgeting for Outcomes (BFO) process, which includes integrating performance management and strategic planning into the process. Three of the budget documents that he has helped produce were awarded the Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. Jed has also worked with several resort communities that are members of the Colorado Association of Ski Towns (CAST) to compile and compare key benchmarks in an effort to improve service delivery.
Mr. Briggs brings eight years of experience and holds a MPA from Brigham Young University (BYU) with an emphasis in local government and finance. Jed worked as a Research Assistant where he helped create a benchmarking analysis of core services and financial health indicators for Utah cities. He also holds a BA in International Studies with an emphasis in international law and diplomacy. Jed has lived in the Park City area his entire life and is still amazed that people from all over the world come to visit this small mining town that he calls home.
