Description:

Hackers often are able to get the better of auditors because of the latter’s checklist approach to security; the piecemeal and fractured security solutions put in place to meet disparate audit findings; and the "if the minimum wasn't good enough it wouldn't be the minimum" mindset that pervades many audit teams. This session explains how hackers are able to bypass several common IT security controls using examples that can be understood easily, even by those without IT expertise. The objective is to show how auditors, once they understand the tactics being used against their organization, can expand their existing controls to frustrate many attackers.
