Job Description: 

Volusia County is located in east-central Florida and bordered by the Atlantic Ocean. The County is approximately 40 miles northeast of Orlando and approximately 200 miles from Tallahassee, Florida’s capital. Volusia County is unique among Florida's communities. Accordingly, policy setting is the responsibility of the County Council and policy execution is the responsibility of the Council-appointed County Manager. The County provides a full range of services and functions with a current operating budget of $768,755,651. The County employs 3,385.81 FTE’s. The Internal Auditor is responsible directly to the County Manager to perform highly responsible performance, operational and financial auditing.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Management, Public Administration, or related field and current certification as a Certified Public Accountant combined with and at least ten (10) years of progressively responsible governmental auditing experience, five (5) of which must have been in the area of performance, operational, compliance, or forensic auditing.
