The City of Laguna Niguel is a contract city supported by 69 full-time staff. Reporting to the City Manager, the Finance Director directs the activities and operations of the fund accounting system, purchases securities at the direction of the City Manager, coordinates the annual and mid-year operating and capital improvement budget process. The successful candidate must be a professional with the highest level of integrity, outstanding judgment, and management skills. The Finance Director will be a collaborative, inclusive, tech savvy, committed to exceptional customer service, and able to motivate and maximize the skills of an experienced, capable staff.

Qualifications Education:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public or Business Administration or other relevant discipline is required. A CPA is highly desirable. Experience: A minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible professional governmental accounting experience is required, including at least 3 years of supervisory responsibility.
