Mark Vago

Mark Vago is Bi-State Development's (BSD) Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for financial planning, budget management, accounting and treasury functions for BSD and its five enterprises.

Prior to being named Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in April 2018, Vago served as BSD's Controller and was responsible for overseeing the preparation of the annual budget, preparing presentations given to the Board of Commissioners, Board Committees, Senior Staff and funding partners, and coordinating the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and the year-end audit process.  As Controller, he also served as a pension board member for the IBEW union employee pension trust fund and the retiree medical trust and was a board member for the salaried and union retired employee’s medical trust fund. 

Prior to working at BSD, Vago was a Controller for Missouri Goodwill Industries, a Corporate Accounting Manager for United Industries, and a Financial Manager for Laclede Steel Company. He also held a variety of positions at Mercantile Bancorporation, worked as an Internal Auditor for ITT Financial and as an Auditor for Rubin Brown.

Vago holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He is a CPA.
