Chris Mukai

Chris recently joined Raymond James after leading Citigroup’s Public Finance practice in California and the Western U.S. since 2009. Prior to joining Citigroup in 2001, Chris spent 10 years in public finance at Merrill Lynch in Los Angeles. Throughout his 30+ year career in public finance, Chris has advised and worked closely with U.S. state and local government officials and policymakers to complete over 1,100 transactions and raise $485 billion for infrastructure and working capital needs of public agencies and non-profits. His experience spans many sectors, services, structures and products used by public agencies, non-profits and private sector partners to deliver infrastructure in the U.S. In addition to leading Citi’s #1 ranked public finance practice in the Western U.S. before its exit from the municipal finance business, five of Chris’ senior managed engagements have earned national “Deal of the Year” awards from industry publications. Chris graduated from UCLA with a degree in Economics/Business and is a proud supporter of Bruin athletics. He holds Series 7, 24, 53 and 63 licenses and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Asian Americans in Public Finance (AAPF).
