Dan Fechter has over a decade’s worth of regulatory compliance experience that has spanned both private and public sectors and holds his master’s degree in Accounting from Colorado State University. He spent 4+ years working in public accounting covering a multitude of auditing and attestation engagements. During that time, Dan led successful efforts in identifying compliance risks and developing compliance, regulatory, and risk solution strategies. Prior to becoming the City and County of Denver’s Federal Grants Manager, he was the Director of Administration and Federal Compliance overseeing the City and County of Denver’s U.S. Housing and Urban Development Entitlement Grants and overall grant compliance for Denver Economic Development and Opportunity. As the City’s Federal Grants Manager, Dan oversees the City’s grant compliance, performance, and administration for the City’s Federal Grants, including COVID response grants such as ARPA. He is firmly committed to delivering on Denver's mission to develop and implement the policies, programs, and initiatives of the City and County of Denver related to race, social equity, and social justice to push equity forward across City agencies and the community.
