Manju Ganeriwala
Manju Ganeriwala serves as Treasurer of the Commonwealth of Virginia. She was first appointed as Treasurer by Governor Kaine in 2009 and reappointed by Governor McDonnell in 2010, Governor McAuliffe in 2014, and Governor Northam in 2018. She oversees the investment of public funds; issuance of bonds and management of state debt; provision of banking services and administration of the state’s insurance and unclaimed property programs.
Prior to her appointment as Treasurer, she served as Deputy Secretary of Finance for three years. Ganeriwala’s service to the Commonwealth includes her leadership roles as the Chief Financial Officer with the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services and Associate Director with the Virginia Department of Planning and Budget.
Ganeriwala holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Bombay and a Master’s in Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She is the 2009 recipient of the YWCA’s Outstanding Woman Award in Government and is a 2013 Toll Fellow. She is also a recipient of numerous other professional awards. Ganeriwala currently serves on the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board.
