Laurette Jean
Director of Budget & Performance Management
Laurette Jean has over fifteen years of public administration experience working in state, county, and municipal governments. She began her career with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) as a Government Analyst where she conducted criminal analysis cases and managed regional grant programs. Following her career with FDLE, Laurette joined Broward County’s Office of Management and Budget. While with Broward County, Laurette played a vital role in the planning, coordination, and execution of the county’s $5 billion dollar budget. She also led the county’s internal consulting services program which provided a variety of services to county departments including fee studies, lean process improvement studies, and performance management. In her current role, Laurette leads the Office of Budget and Performance Management with the City of Hollywood where she oversees the city’s $672 million budget.
Laurette is a Certified Government Finance Officer, a member of the Florida Government Finance Officers Association and the Government Finance Officers Association. She is also a board member for Florida International University’s MPA program. She has earned a master’s degree in public administration from Nova Southeastern University and holds a bachelor’s degree in public administration from Florida International University.
