Kathryn Mortensen
Interim Budget and Performance Manager, City of Brighton, Colorado
Kathryn is in her second round with The City of Brighton, serving as the City’s Budget and Performance Manager. In this position she manages the City's budget and runs the Brighton Performance and Leadership Academy which teaches process improvement tools, organizational culture, and how to be a leader from any position in an organization. Previous to this position, she has worked as a Management and Budget Analyst, first for the City of Brighton and then for the City and County of Denver. She graduated with a Master’s of Public Administration from the University of Colorado-Denver and has a Bachelor's in Political Science. She is also a 2020 ELGL Traeger Award winner, an ELGL Knope of the Month, and has received a black belt from both the Denver Peak Academy and the Brighton Performance and Leadership Academy. In her free time, Kathryn likes to paint, spend time with her daughter, and find time to be outdoors.
