Scott Huizenga is a local government professional with nearly 20 years of experience in city management, municipal finance, labor negotiation, capital improvements, and economic development. He is nationally-recognized leader in resident engagement, budget and policy formation, strategic and financial planning, and developing financial policies.
Scott has served as the Budget Director of Kansas City, Missouri since his appointment in 2013. He manages the development, implementation, and monitoring of the city’s $1.7 billion annual budget, and he leads the development of the City’s Citywide Business Plan and Five-Year Financial Model. Scott was previously the City Administrator of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, a full-service city serving 8601 residents within a metropolitan area of approximately 70,000 residents. Scott studied Public Administration at the University of North Dakota, and he holds a Master of Public Administration Degree from the University of Kansas.
