Laurie Brewer
Assistant City Manager, City of Georgetown, Texas
Laurie has served as Assistant City Manager since August 2011. She began her career in the City of Georgetown as a staff accountant and has more than 20 years of governmental finance experience both in Georgetown and in Hutto, where she served as Director of Finance from 2006-2009.
Laurie has given back to her profession through mentoring and service to professional organizations. She serves on the Government Finance Officers Association’s national committee on Economic Development and Capital Planning. Laurie is a member of the Texas City Management Association and the International City Management Association. She has also served on the revenue legislative policy committee for the Texas Municipal League.
Laurie graduated Cum Laude from Sam Houston State University and also received her Masters of Public Administration from Sam Houston. She is a Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO) through the Government Finance Officers Association of Texas and is an International City Management Association Credentialed Manager Candidate.
