Jonathan Edwards, CIA, CPFO

Jonathan Edwards serves as the Internal Auditor for Volusia County Florida. He graduated from Missouri State University and is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO). He has served as the director since 2019 when the department was created. Previously, he has held multiple positions as an auditor and finance officer, working for organizations such as the Missouri State Auditor’s Office, La Crosse County, WI, and the Cities of Charleston and Mount Pleasant, SC. For the last two years, his internal audit reports have received the distinguished Knighton Award from the Association of Local Government Auditors, a competitive award that recognizes the best performance audit reports for the year. Jonathan has been a COA reviewer since 2012 and has been a reviewer of the Budget and PAFR programs for several years. He also serves on the GFOA Special Review Executive Committee and the ALGA Membership Committee.
