Alisha Gamble

Alisha Gamble serves as the Finance Director for Jackson County, Georgia, where she oversees a $92 million local budget and manages payroll for more than 500 employees. She is dedicated to promoting efficient and transparent fiscal management while ensuring the responsible stewardship of public resources. Her department handles a broad scope of financial functions, including data collection, analysis, reporting, and strategic advising to support effective governance.
Alisha launched her career in public finance after earning a BBA in Accounting from North Georgia University in 2008. She began as a Staff Auditor at RL Jennings & Company, working with local governments and nonprofit organizations. In 2011, she joined the City of Gainesville, Georgia, as a Financial Analyst, where she was responsible for capital project reporting, debt service scheduling, and grant administration. She also contributed significantly to the city’s audit processes and capital asset reporting.
In 2016, Alisha was promoted to Budget and Purchasing Manager and later served as Finance Director for the City of Flowery Branch, Georgia, from 2017 to 2022. During her tenure, she led the city to earn its first GFOA Distinguished Budget Award and successfully submitted its inaugural Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the Certificate of Achievement in Excellence in Financial Reporting in 2022.
An active leader in the government finance community, Alisha has been involved with the Georgia Government Finance Officers Association (GGFOA) since 2011, serving in several roles including President (2018–2019), Vice President, Treasurer, Director, and Communications Chair. She is also a graduate of the inaugural cohort of the Public Finance Leadership Academy through the UGA Carl Vinson Institute of Government (2021). In addition, she volunteers on the Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Accounting, Auditing, and Financial Reporting Committee (AAFRC).
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Alisha is deeply committed to community service. She mentor’s youth through the Legacy Youth program in Jackson County, serves as the fiscal agent on the board of Family Connections, and actively volunteers with her local church.
