Debra Hentz
Lean Specialist, Center for Government Innovation, Office of the Washington State Auditor
Debra Hentz is a Lean Specialist for the Center for Government Innovation within the Washington State Auditor’s Office. She works with local governments to improve core processes, build staff capacity for continuous improvement, and craft performance management strategies. Debra helps teams develop and implement their own solutions to improve the quality of their services, use resources efficiently, and increase customer satisfaction. Debra has been training, coaching, and leading improvement projects within Local Governments for the past 13 years. Prior to joining the public sector, she spent 20 years at the Hewlett Packard Company as an Engineering Manager in the areas of product design, lean manufacturing, and worldwide operations. Her areas of expertise included project management, continuous process improvement and leading change initiatives. Debra holds a Black Belt in Lean, a Master of Public Affairs degree from Washington State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
