Nik Kovac

Before joining Mayor Cavalier Johnson's cabinet in 2022, Nik was an elected alderman for 14 years, representing Milwaukee's East Side, Riverwest, and North Downtown neighborhoods. He graduated from Milwaukee's Riverside University High School in 1995, and from Harvard University in 2000 with a degree in mathematics. Before joining city government, he worked as a journalist and editor for the Queens Ledger, the Brooklyn Star, and Milwaukee's Riverwest Currents.
