Carrie Matson

Carrie Matson is the Deputy Finance Director for the City of Thousand Oaks, CA, and has over twenty years of local government experience. In addition to her current role at Thousand Oaks, she also spent eighteen years in various roles at the City of Burbank, CA including the Community Development, Parks and Recreation, and Financial Services Departments.

Carrie holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, a master's degree in Public Administration, and an Executive master's degree in Urban Planning, all from the University of Southern California. She is also an active member of both CSMFO and GFOA.

Carrie's career has included a variety of initiatives including system implementations, long-term strategic planning, budget development, labor negotiations, pension sustainability, data visualization and transparency, and community engagement.
