Chief Financial Officer, Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority, New Mexico
As CFO, Marta provides strategic leadership for the Water Authority’s Financial and Business Services Division, as well as, for the management of its financial and capital resources. She oversees the Customer Services Division, Finance and Accounting functions, Purchasing and Warehouse functions, Grants Management, and Asset Management functions. Within those units lie critical business functions including (but not limited to) payroll, financial reporting, accounts receivable and payable, procurement of all goods and services, financial systems, administration of federal and state grants and asset management.
Marta has over two decades of experience in governmental finance, capital asset management, and financial reporting and manages over $9 billion in water and wastewater system assets including piping, valves, pumps, facilities, and fleet. Prior to joining the Water Authority, she was Acting CFO and Accounting Manager for the City of Rio Rancho, NM for 13 years. Marta received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Phoenix in Albuquerque, NM.
