Amy Parker

Amy Parker was born in Ohio but grew up in southwest Oklahoma. After high school she began her college journey obtaining her associates in science degree from Western Oklahoma State College. Upon completion she took a break to raise her family on the farm. In 2002 she started back to college in order to complete her bachelor’s degree in accounting and her master’s degree in Business Administration from Cameron University. While in school she worked for a small tax firm in Altus, Oklahoma doing various tax returns and keeping books for small companies. Deciding she wanted a job with a better work/life balance she took a job with the City of Altus as their Senior Accountant. Realizing how much she enjoyed working for her local government she moved to Oklahoma City where she obtained a job with the City of Oklahoma City in order to further her career in governmental accounting. She has been with the City of Oklahoma City for 10 years where she has worked within the accounting division as a Municipal Accountant II, Municipal Accountant III, Accounting Manager and currently an Assistant Controller. While working for the City of Oklahoma City she has obtained her certified public accountant license which is proof it’s never too late in life to accomplish your goals. Amy also serves as the inaugural chair for WILLO (Women Inspiring Leadership and Learning Opportunities) business resource group. She loves working for an organization where your work matters at all levels of the organization and where management cares about its employees. She looks forward to many more opportunities within the City of Oklahoma City throughout the rest of her career.


Amy and her husband Jerry live in Yukon with their two hound dogs Baylee and Ellie Mae. They enjoy spending time with their adult children while spoiling their four precious grandkids.
Amy loves spending time outside hiking, camping, and driving her pink jeep “MISSPIP”. She enjoys spending time with her friends traveling and trying out new places to eat. She also enjoys reading and cheering on her favorite teams Oklahoma State, OKC Thunder and the Dallas Cowboys.
