Steve Groom

Steve has served as CFO or Finance Director for City of Federal Way and City of Yakima, Palestine Texas, Keller Texas, and Beach Cities Health District in California. Steve serves on GFOA’s Treasury and Investment Committee and chairs Washington Public Treasurer Association’s investment policy certification committee. Steve is a GFOA budget reviewer. Steve’s greatest passion is for communicating effectively to non-financial people, (re)building community trust and developing strong internal collaboration with other departments within an agency.
