Diane Waldron
Comptroller, City of Bristol, Connecticut
Diane is the Comptroller for the City of Bristol in Connecticut and has overall thirty-five years of experience in government finance as a Director of Finance in four other communities in Connecticut. She is responsible for all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, pensions and benefits, and debt and cash management. She has received the GFOA Awards for Financial Reporting and Budget throughout her career.
Diane has her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Fairfield University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Diane is a member of the Government Finance Officers’ Association, currently serves on the GFOA Executive Board, was President-Elect of GFOA’s Women’s Public Finance Network in 2023 and served on the Committee on Retirement and Benefits Administration for six years and served as Chair in 2023. She is a past president for the Connecticut Government Finance Officers’ Association and the New England Government Finance Officers’ Association. She is also Governor appointee to the State of Connecticut Municipal Finance Advisory Commission that oversees Connecticut municipalities in fiscal distress.
