Katie Walsh has more than a decade of experience working with local governments on urban planning, sustainable finance and climate change. Katie is the Head of Climate Finance for Cities, States/Regions & North America Lead at CDP, a not-for-profit organization that runs the world’s largest measurement and disclosure system for investors, companies, and governments to manage their environmental impacts. Katie previously served as a fellow in the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability in the City of Philadelphia, a fellow at the U.S. Department of Energy Policy and International Affairs Office and was a Fulbright Scholar in Taiwan. Katie previously ran the New York Chapter of Women Investing in a Sustainable Economy and is a Senior Fellow with the Environmental Leadership Program. Katie currently chairs the Transportation Committee on her Community Board in Southern Brooklyn. In 2020, Katie ran for the New York State Assembly. While she did not win this seat, she remains active in her district on the issues she ran on and developed and launched Climate Candidates, to catalyze others with experience in environment, clean energy and climate change action to run for local and state office.
