With more than 20 years of experience, I lead the firm’s grants compliance growth and engagement efforts ensuring our public sector clients can navigate the unprecedented volume of new and existing federal funding. As clients seek to comply with federal funding, I provide innovative leadership by authoring articles, providing best practices and facilitating meetings with management and governance to address questions, including how to best document decisions when guidance is lacking or evolving rapidly. I have strong working relationships with federal agencies making it easy for me to get quick answers to the tough technical questions as they arise. Because of my single audit expertise, I speak on this topic at conferences sponsored by the GFOA, AICPA, state CPA societies, and various industry groups. In May 2023 I completed my three-year term with the AICPA’s Governmental Audit Quality Center’s executive committee, which establishes general policies of the GAQC and oversees its activities and membership requirements. The GAQC’s mission is to raise awareness of the importance of governmental audit quality and to improve the overall quality of governmental audits, including single audits and other compliance audits performed under various federal audit guides.
