Colleen Young

Colleen Young is the Director of Finance and the Treasurer for the City of Sherwood, Arkansas. She directs the operations of the Finance Department, and key areas of responsibility include accounting, budget, debt management, treasury functions, procurement, and payroll.

Colleen is a finance professional with over 12 years of local government experience. Prior to joining the City of Sherwood, she served as the Assistant Chief Financial Officer for the City of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and worked in various financial roles for the City of Little Rock.

Colleen is a member of the Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Committee on Treasury and Investment Management. She also belongs to GFOA’s Women’s Public Finance Network. Colleen is a member of the Arkansas Government Finance Officers Association, where she previously served on the board in many roles, including President.

Colleen holds a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) certification and has a Master of Accountancy from the University of Central Arkansas and a B.S. in Accounting from Centenary College of Louisiana.
