Why did you want to become a CPFO?

I wanted to be a resourceful leader and better versed in public finance. The CPFO is the one of the most recognized credentials in the field. Becoming a CPFO benefits my role within my organization and helps with my contribution to the team.

What did you learn going through the process?

The program enhanced my skills in a multitude of aspects. Its well-structured seven sections of public finance fundamentals and best practices are invaluable. And the resources it provides point me in the right direction for further research if needed.

How has becoming a CPFO made an impact on you in your profession or how do you hope it will make an impact?

The program prepared me to be a competent leader with in-depth knowledge and critical skills. I'll tackle my day-to-day responsibilities more efficiently and effectively. The ongoing participation in learning the GFOA best practices, conferences, and member networking groups, as the program encourages, will help me stay abreast of the public finance and connect with other wonderful professional in the field.

What would you say to others thinking about becoming a CPFO?

Just do it.
