1. Why did you want to become a CPFO? 

As someone whose education did not major in accounting, it was important for me to obtain credentials that validate the experience, skills, knowledge, and education I have gained throughout my career. Additionally, I wanted to deepen my understanding of the finance profession and its complexities.

2. What did you learn going through the process? 

I learned that finance is a broad field that encompasses many different disciplines. The process provided me with a greater appreciation of the diverse skills and expertise required in public finance.

3. How has becoming a CPFO made an impact on you in your profession?  

Becoming a CPFO has validated my professional experience and provided additional credibility to my work. It has also enhanced my confidence in tackling complex financial challenges and serving my community with a higher level of professionalism.

4. What would you say to others thinking about becoming a CPFO? 

Make time for it. The knowledge gained through preparing for the exams is invaluable and will not only elevate your professional skills but also help you become a better servant to your community. It's an investment in yourself and your ability to contribute meaningfully to public service.
