1. Why did you want to become a CPFO? 

I wanted to become a CPFO to deepen my expertise in public finance, enhance my ability to lead financial operations effectively, and ensure I am always delivering the highest standard of financial management. The certification demonstrates my commitment to professional excellence and continuous learning.

2. What did you learn going through the process? 

The process reinforced my understanding of critical financial principles, from budgeting and treasury management to debt administration and financial reporting. It also challenged me to think strategically about how finance impacts government operations and the community at large.

3. How has becoming a CPFO made an impact on you in your profession?  

Becoming a CPFO has strengthened my confidence in making high-stakes financial decisions, improved my ability to implement best practices, and positioned me as a trusted resource within my organization. I also hope it will open doors to greater leadership opportunities and allow me to contribute more meaningfully to financial strategy and policy development.

4. What would you say to others thinking about becoming a CPFO? 

I highly encourage it! The CPFO designation not only enhances your technical skills but also sets you apart as a committed finance professional. It requires dedication, but the knowledge gained and the professional credibility it brings are well worth the effort.
