Scott Rust, CPFO, is the finance director for the City of Rifle, Colorado.
1. Why did you want to become a CPFO?
Earning the CPFO certification was a way for me to legitimize and expand my skills in public finance. I see it as an investment in my future and my organization’s continued success. The specialized nature of the CPFO shows that I am equipped to navigate the complexities of public finance and contribute to innovative, strategic solutions that will benefit my community.
2. What did you learn going through the process?
The CPFO process provided me with a more comprehensive perspective on public finance.
