Under general management oversight, the finance director plans, organizes, and directs the finance and accounting operations of the city, and reports to the city manager on all matters related to the city’s finances. The position supervises the finance office, utility billing, and the operational functions of municipal court. Requirements include:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. An Associate’s Degree and experience may substitute.
- Significant experience in municipal finance and/or governmental accounting.
- Proven ability to lead accounting functions, including budgeting, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, purchasing, and utility billing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, problem solving skills, initiative and judgment.
