Interim Executive Director - Illinois Police Officers’ Pension Investment Fund (ILPOPIF)

The ILPOPIF was created to consolidate and manage the reserves, funds, assets, securities, properties, and money of the police pension funds created pursuant to Article 3 of the Illinois Pension Code. The ILPOPIF Transition Board of Trustees will appoint an Interim Executive Director (ED). The ED is the Chief Executive Officer of the of the ILPOPIF. When a permanent board has been elected, the Board of Trustees will consider confirmation of the Interim ED appointment.
Summary of duties and responsibilities: provide leadership in implementing the programs necessary to achieve the mission, goals and objectives established by the board, including: implementing governing policies, directives, charters, and bylaws; overseeing operations, finance, actuarial, accounting, human resources; appointing service providers; ensuring timely communication; and providing the Board with relevant, appropriate and timely information.

Compensation and Benefits – salary will be competitive and based on the candidate’s qualifications and career accomplishments. This is an interim position with terms and conditions to be negotiated with and approved by the Transition Board, with final determination to be made by the Elected Board.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Management or related field; Ten years leadership experience and fiduciary responsibility in institutional investments, public pensions, or related field; Proven ability to manage an organization, develop a long-term strategic plan, and work cooperatively with stakeholders of varying interests/perspectives; and Proven written and verbal communication skills.
