The County of Santa Clara’s award-winning Office of the County Counsel (“Office”) is currently recruiting to fill its Financial and Administrative Services Manager position. This executive position serves as the Legal Office Administrative Director to manage and oversee the Office’s administrative functions. The Office has over 200 employees across 3 locations in the heart of Silicon Valley.
The individual that will be selected for this critical role will be responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day operations of administrative and fiscal functions for the Office of the County Counsel, supervising staff in a variety of areas, including legal support, information technology, accounting operations and fiscal control, facilities management, and human resources. This position works with other members of the Office’s executive leadership team to fulfill the Office’s mission to provide high-quality legal advice and representation. This position is directly responsible for development of the annual Office budget submittal and oversight of budgetary operations, liaising with other County departments, and ensuring the Office’s operational needs are met.
A qualified candidate would typically acquire the necessary knowledge and abilities through education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Public Administration with an emphasis in accounting or a closely related field, and five (5) years of current administrative/managerial experience directing a complex financial operation. Administrative/managerial experience managing a complex financial operation in the public sector is a plus. In addition, experience providing administrative management in a legal office is desirable.
