ERP implementation projects are difficult, but not impossible. Unfortunately many governments go into these critical projects unprepared and without completing simple readiness steps that can help set goals and define scope, organize and align key staff, get a head start on time consuming data conversions, prepare proper business process documentation, develop a strategy for holding all parties accountable for results, and reduce likelihood of costly change orders. GFOA has identified common pain points that governments experience during an ERP implementation and developed readiness strategies to mitigate the risk to the project for each. In this training, speakers will provide information on what all governments should be doing in the twelve months prior to starting an ERP implementation to better prepare for success.
